Two fighting for life after Melbourne nightclub shooting

Four people have been injured following a shooting outside a nightclub in the Australian city of Melbourne. Two other patients, a 50-year-old man and a 29-year-old man, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police believe multiple people were shot during the incident and say a 28-year-old man and another who is yet to be identified are in critical conditions.

Local detectives are probing the involvement of an outlaw motorcycle gang as the gang had recently made extortion attempts on the nightclub.

In a statement, Victoria Police said the exact circumstances surround the shooting were still being established.

MELBOURNE SHOOTING: This is now the scene outside "Love Machine" nightclub near Chapel Street.

Local media said there were three or four victims and that the entire area has been cordoned off.

She first heard about the shooting on the morning news and called on tougher gun laws.
