Howard made national headlines last week when he allegedly tried to trip Duke star Zion Williamson.

No. 8 seed Syracuse will be without starting point guard Frank Howard when it takes the court against No. 9 seed Baylor on Thursday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

The school did not provide details about what led to the suspension, and Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim side-stepped a question about whether Howard would be eligible to return if the Orange advance in the NCAA tournament.

Boeheim would not say whether Howard would be available on Saturday for a potential matchup with top-seeded Gonzaga. "We practiced with the inclination that this would be the case".

Howard is averaging 8.9 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists so far this season.

Syracuse will be getting standout player Tyus Battle back for the tournament, but they'll lose Howard at the same time.

The synopsis also teases that Bill and Ted will get some help along the way from family, friends and some music legends. Yes, the "Bill & Ted" sequel is officially coming and dedicated fans are happily freaking out about it on social media.

"We've played without players before", junior guard Tyus Battle said during Syracuse's media availability on Wednesday. We played really well in both games in the tournament. Battle will step into Howard's role at point guard.

Tyus Battle, Howard's backcourt mate, would seem a likely candidate, though Boeheim would not tip his hand.

Boeheim, asked if he knew who would start in Howard's place against Baylor, said, "Yes, I do" - but when pressed for specifics, said only, "Yes is my answer".

How will Howard's suspension impact Syracuse?

"And we're going to have to make that same adjustment this week with a different guy going".
