Pick up the Fire TV remote, hit the mic button, and tell Fire TV to "Play Apple Music".

Apple Music has been available on your run-of-the-mill Alexa devices, namely Echo and Dot and the like, for a while now.

In late 2018, Apple Music's availability expanded to Amazon's ecosystem with support on Echo speakers in the U.S. On Wednesday, Amazon announced that this support is expanding. Customers can enable this function by opening the Alexa app on their phone and setting up the Apple Music skill. Have you tested it out on an Alexa device?

Once enabled, voice commands of "Alexa, play Beats 1 on Apple Music" or "Alexa, play my favorites playlist on Apple Music" will get you going. It was only in December that Apple Music came to Echo devices, and with Apple's rumoured video streaming service due to launch, we suspect the company will want to continue opening up its services to other platforms.

Australian man stops arrow with phone while taking photo of attacker
A man in New South Wales in Australia seems to have discovered an extra bonus feature of his phone: the ability to stop an arrow . The resident held up his mobile phone to take a photo of the armed man who then engaged the bow and was ready to fire.

But if you already set up the skill on your Amazon Echo, you're all set and you don't have to do anything else. There have been signs that this streaming service is coming to Google Home smartspeakers too.

For years, Apple treated its various services as "sweeteners" to convince consumers to buy an iPhone, iPad and Mac. This new approach became evident at CES 2019 where Apple announced it would soon begin streaming iTunes to Samsung smart TVs.

"Customers will also be able to ask Alexa to stream expert-made radio stations centred on popular genres like Hip-Hop, decades like the 80s, and even music from around the world, like K-Pop".
