Ronaldo captured the attention of the soccer world on Tuesday when he scored a hat trick to lead Juventus past Atletico Madrid and into the Champions League quarterfinals.

Suarez then rounded Lyon goalkeeper Anthony Lopes to lay on a flawless pass for the unmarked Philippe Coutinho to nudge into an open net and double Barca's lead, although Lyon hauled themselves back into contention with a second-half strike from Lucas Tousart.

He had two opportunities to match Ronaldo and complete a treble as Lyon continued to crumble, but chose instead to set up Pique and Dembele.

"We don't want to choose one [side] because they're all really tough", Messi said. "He was like Ronaldo".

Messi and Ronaldo dueled for nine years in the Spanish league before the Portugal forward opted to move to Juventus.

The playmaker netted during the victory over Lyon in the Champions League on Wednesday night, but the alleged Manchester United target has acknowledged that his future at the Catalan giants remains unclear. The quarterfinal draw is on Friday.

MESSI would get his first assist of the match.

Trailing 2-0 after the first leg, Ronaldo scored two towering headers before converting a penalty to keep Juve's hopes of winning the European trophy alive, exactly why the signed him in the first place.

"I faced Messi when he was 16 years old and I was amazed".

Wednesday evening was a very good one for Barcelona.

Barca, who are in the quest for a quadruple, will be without Ousmane Dembele, but will have Lionel Messi available for the clash. Liverpool has a lot of firepower like it showed against Bayern (Munich). It will be interesting to see whom the Blaugrana side face.
