Kalank teaser: Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan starrer promises a classic epic romance

The teaser of Kalank was finally released yesterday much to the excitement of the fans. Varun Dhawan in Kalank. The dream project of the Dharma head was handed over to him by his late father, Yash Johar and it seems like he has taken it in his stride to make it even grander and the teaser itself has BLOCKBUSTER written over it.

At the film's teaser launch here on Tuesday, Madhuri was asked about how she felt on the sets of Kalank knowing that the character was supposed to be played by Sridevi. "After the release of Kal Ho Naa Ho in 2003, I shared the story of Kalank with my father". Immediately after, Madhuri Dixit was roped in for the role and it was a major breakthrough for the filmmaker, for having cast her and Sanjay in a film together, a feat that no other producer had achieved in the past many years.

Talking about her decision to step into Sridevi's role, Madhuri said, "Her demise was sad news for us". I thought she has signed two-three big films so maybe that's the reason.

Alia was all praise for her good friend and co-actor.

Aditya Koy Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha both said that they did the film, despite a large emsemble cast, because each of the characters has vast depth. But it's a different scenario when you look at the situation as an actress as you add your own inputs to the character. When I was approached for the role, it was not easy for me. Once you start working, you have to move on and do your job.
