The Chemical Brothers, Kasabian and Emily Eavis are among those paying tribute to The Prodigy's Keith Flint following his death at 49.

The singer was found dead in his Essex home last week and Coroner's officer, Lynsey Chaffe told a hearing that Keith's provisional medical cause of death is hanging. The investigation will continue until the results of toxicology tests are finalized.

The BBC have reported that Essex's senior coroner has adjourned the inquest until 23 July for a full hearing. Flint died by suicide.

The anti-establishment band The Prodigy was spawned by the United Kingdom illegal rave scene in the 1990s, but as mainstream tastes changed, later found their way to the top of the charts with the singles "Firestarter" and "Breathe".

They continued: "We attended and, sadly, a 49-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene".

A statement by Flint's bandmates Liam Howlett and Maxim after his death described him as "a brother and best friend".

Also on Friday, the Cardinals announced they have released veteran safety Antoine Bethea and quarterback Mike Glennon. He's only played in 12 games over the past two seasons - missing all but five games previous year to a knee injury.

The band announced last week that they are cancelling all their forthcoming shows, in the wake of Flint's death.

This is the first confirmation of Keith's cause of death since The Prodigy posted a tribute to the late star when the news broke.

"A true pioneer, innovator and legend. We thank you for respecting the privacy of all concerned at this time".

The band had only recently released their seventh studio album, No Tourists, in November previous year, and had embarked on a world tour.
