Conor McGregor arrested in Miami

The Miami Herald reportthat McGregor was charged with strong-armed robbery and misdemeanour criminal mischief, according to Miami Beach police.

According to a Miami Beach Police report, McGregor "slapped" the fan's phone out of his hand, stamping on it several times.

The report continued by saying McGregor picked up the phone and walked away with it.

The victim told investigators the phone cost $1,000.

Last April, McGregor was involved in an incident backstage at UFC weigh-ins when he attacked a van carrying fighters and officials. The attack happened after a media day for UFC 223.

News surfaced tonight that former two-division UFC champ McGregor (21-4 MMA, 9-2 UFC) had been taken into custody after the incident, which apparently occurred around 5 a.m. local time Monday. His sentence: three days of anger management courses, and five days of community service.

Chiesa filed a civil lawsuit against McGregor seeking damages for "severe emotional distress, mental trauma and/or bodily harm".

Authorities say mixed martial artist and boxer Conor McGregor has been arrested in South Florida for stealing the cellphone of someone who was trying to take his photo.

Police are reported to have spent the day investigating the incident before arresting McGregor on Monday evening at a home in Miami Beach.
