He now trails only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387 points), Karl Malone (36,928) and Kobe Bryant (33,643) on the league's all-time scoring list.

The Los Angeles Lakers, despite the best efforts from some unlikely contributors, ultimately came up short against the Denver Nuggets, but that wasn't the big story of the night. He's averaging 27.1 points, 8.6 rebounds and 8.0 assists this season.

It was the Lakers star's 32,294th career point, moving him into fourth on the list. James tweeted his excitement about the milestone shortly before the game: "Can't even front".

James, the top scorer among active players, made his points in 1,190 games compared to 1,072 for Jordan.

A tribute video played, and fans who did not have reason to cheer for LeBron James for the first 31,000 points of his career rose in a standing ovation. He has spoken repeatedly of patience with the young Lakers while the club attempts to land a second superstar to turn James' next team into a title contender. "It's beyond insane." James added that meeting Michael Jordan as a 15-year-old kid from OH, was like "meeting Jesus", before concluding, "I thank MJ more than he would ever know".

Liz Cheney: Democratic Party Is ‘Now Enabling and Abiding By Anti-Semitism’
The final vote on the resolution was 407 to 23, with 23 Republicans voting no, and all Democrats, including Omar, voting yes. The House has passed a resolution condemning anti-Semitism and other bigotry.

Past and present National Basketball Association players, including Magic Johnson, tweeted their congratulations to James.

With fans showing interest in the game after their team crawled back to make it a contest, the Lakers let down their fans yet again. The Lakers rallied impressively in the second half with a lineup consisting of James and four youngsters, but faded in their fourth straight defeat.

That game was many lifetimes ago for this Lakers team, worn down by a disappointing season, injuries and the Anthony Davis news cycle that washed them out.

"I've done it maybe eight to 10 times this year", Rondo told reporters after the game. "Throughout it all, keep your head high, and you keep pushing forward".
