Disney CEO Bob Iger Says Fox Deal Will Close "Soon"

For good, at least according to Disney CEO Bob Iger. It's our heart's desire come true.

If you're waiting for Disney+ to roll out hoping it might provide access to a few of your favorite shows and movies from the Disney vault, there was some big news about the service at yesterdays Disney Shareholder meeting.

"The service.is going to combine what we call library product, movies, and television, with a lot of original product as well, movies and television", Iger said.

Disney's catalog of films dates back to the 1920s, and includes iconic films such as "Snow White" and "Bambi" alongside modern classics like "Frozen" and "Wreck-it Ralph".

Google said via a statement that it believes in the power of technology that can help to transform teaching and learning. Diya can speak in Hindi and English and help the children when they are trying to read in English or Hindi .

Disney traditionally released films to home video for a limited time before returning them to "the vault". Once a new release sells through on DVD and Blu-ray, Disney has always locked them up again until another event, such as an anniversary, merits a rerelease.

Why it matters: Fast Company explained that "in today's world, where consumers are accustomed to watching whatever they want to watch, whenever they want to watch it, a practice that's been codified by companies like Netflix, Disney's vault strategy feels antiquated".

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has previously reiterated that Marvel's planning for the Fox-controlled X-Men and Fantastic Four film rights won't commence until after the buyout is complete, so it's unclear which aspects of Disney's larger entertainment apparatus have begun working on what's coming after the purchase.

More: Iger said newer Disney films will also join Disney Plus within the first year of the film's theater run, Polygon reports.
