New Mexico Democratic Rep. Deb Haaland, one of the first Native American women in Congress, said on CNN's "At This Hour" with Kate Bolduan that she took Trump's remark to be about the Trail of Tears.

Donald Trump has been condemned after appearing to make a joke about the Trail of Tears - the forced relocation of Native Americans leading to the deaths of thousands of people - as he mocked the launch of Democrat Elizabeth Warren's presidential campaign.

"Well come on. How many investigations are there now?"

Warren also had the gall to accuse the president of making hateful, racist, "dark and ugly" tweets while also hinting he might be in jail before 2020, due to "serious" investigations.

Warren, who officially announced her bid for the Democratic presidential nomination on Saturday, made the remark at the Veterans Memorial Building in Cedar Rapids in front of a crowd of several hundred.

There are also investigations underway into Trump's business and charity dealings, investigators working out whether he is unjustly profiting from his presidency, and whether he violated campaign finance laws.

England-West Indies Test rocked by star's unsavoury slur
Root's words were praised online by a number of sports stars, including Gary Lineker and former England captain Nasser Hussein. The ICC's code of conduct prohibits the use of "language of a personal, insulting, obscene and/or offensive nature".

Warren came under fire previous year for taking a DNA test to demonstrate her Native American ancestry. In total, Trump faces more than a dozen investigations.

She said the Democrats will not succeed by just opposing Trump, which will not "make the changes that this country really needs".

"Elizabeth Warren has already been exposed as a fraud by the Native Americans she impersonated and disrespected to advance her professional career, and the people of MA she deceived to get elected", campaign manager Brad Parscale said."The American people will reject her dishonest campaign and socialist ideas like the Green New Deal, that will raise taxes, kill jobs and crush America's middle-class".

Saturday's appearance is part of a series of organizing events that Warren is holding around the country to boost support for the US senator from Massachusetts' presidential campaign in early primary states.

"This is the fight of our lives", Warren said. And that is why I stand here today: "to declare that I am a candidate for President of the United States of America". Trump picked a portrait of Jackson for Oval Office in 2017.

Her fake news media allies celebrated the results anyway and claimed she turned the tables on Trump.
