Nicki Minaj Throws Down the Gauntlet Against BET, Won’t Perform at Awards

As of Monday afternoon, her name still appears on BET Experience's official site, as does that of another co-headliner, one who-perhaps tellingly-is slated to perform on a different night: Cardi B.

The organisation issued an apology on Monday night when Nicki dropped out of headlining the 2019 awards show and all further projects with the Black Entertainment Television network.

'We deeply apologize for the hurt, disappointment and confusion that this post has caused. In a follow-up tweet, she announced that neither she nor any of the acts on the famed Young Money label would be appearing at June's BET Experience.

The official BET Twitter account posted this tweet following Cardi B's historic win at the Grammy Awards on Sunday, but has since deleted it amid backlash.

Adding, "Unfortunately the respect we have for Nicki was violated by this post that should never have been written".

In another post, Nicki thanked her fans for their support, writing.

BET is apologising after a tweet offended Nicki Minaj forcing her to cut ties with the network. We have apologized to Nicki and her team'. "I'm not performing for that summer show anymore", she wrote, whole Wayne responded, "I'm with you". Whether I read it or not, I felt it.

It's unclear if Lil Wayne's "I'm with u" is him saying he's canceling his performance as well or just okay with her decision to do so, but we'll probably get a proper statement from Young Money about it in the coming days or weeks. But I'll tell my fans the real on the next episode of #QueenRadio they deserve the truth.

She tweeted: 'I've kept my mouth shut but now you're lying about me.
