Kyler Murray's decision sent both football and baseball Twitter into a frenzy

On Monday, Murray tweeted that he is "committing to football". After all, Murray was the ninth overall pick by the Athletics in last year's Major League Baseball draft, but he's also considered a first-round talent in football and the ceiling for him in the NFL will be higher. "Kyler Murray would make a lot of sense in that situation given that Miami loved Baker Mayfield previous year". You can't blame the league for that, but it does represent how precarious baseball's position on the media map is, as MLB fights the NFL and National Basketball Association for the eyeballs and dollars of fans.

On Monday, quarterback Kyler Murray announced that he has chose to pick football over baseball.

After transferring to Oklahoma from Texas A&M, Murray was the Sooners' backup quarterback behind Heisman victor and future No. 1 NFL pick Baker Mayfield for the 2017 football season.

"Football has been my love and passion my entire life", the 2018 Heisman Trophy victor wrote on Twitter. Being a talented two-sport athlete gave him the luxury of being able to choose the path that he felt was best for him, but it will also likely bring additional scrutiny and questions to the already stressful life of an National Football League quarterback.

However, the Taliban have put out contradictory information on what timeline the U.S. had agreed to in any potential withdrawal. Officials have expressed concern that Afghan security forces, already stretched thin, could crumble if US troops leave.

Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders played football and baseball, but both men played less demanding positions: Jackson was a running back and Sanders a cornerback. "Something like that is something that is part of our private discussions".

Before Murray announced his decision Billy Beane, Oakland's executive vice president of baseball operations, acknowledged his team might lose the player. Until Monday. Now, Murray will turn his sights toward becoming a first-round choice in the April NFL draft. He forfeits the remaining $3.16 million, due March 1.

Technically, the Athletics will be able to retain the rights to Murray, in the event that he ever has a change of heart or is forced to alter his career path.

The Broncos were undoubtedly interested in Mayfield last year, which has me wondering if they are going to show any interest in Kyler Murray this year.
