England great Gordon Banks dies

He made 628 appearances during a 15-year career in the Football League, and won 73 caps for his country and is regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time.

Pressman, who was coached by Banks when just a youngster, added: 'So sad to hear that Gordon Banks has passed away.

Banks started his career at Chesterfield, before joining Leicester in 1959 for £7,000, and it was at the Foxes that he established himself as England's number one, earning his first worldwide cap in 1963 against Scotland.

The world of football is mourning the death of Gordon Banks this Tuesday, with the England World Cup victor having died aged 81.

The veteran shot-stopper, who played for Stoke City and Leicester City among a storied career, died peacefully in his sleep overnight, his family confirmed . Sad for football, Stoke City and for England fans.
