Best new artist Alessia Cara was the only woman to receive her own award during the telecast, and Lorde, the sole woman to earn an album of the year nomination, was not invited to perform her own music.

In the Best New Artist category, six of the eight nominees are women.

It's been an exceptionally tiring few months for the entertainment world, between fervent backlash to the Super Bowl halftime show lineup and the hullabaloo over who would host the Oscars (no one), how many nominations polarising films Green Book and Bohemian Rhapsody would receive (five each), how many original song nominees would be performing live (all of them, apparently thanks to Lady Gaga) and, well. we could go on. Cardi B's "Invasion of Privacy", Kacey Musgraves' "Golden Hour", Brandi Carlile's "By the Way, I Forgive You" and H.E.R.'s self-titled album are also in contention. Women also have a strong presence in those top categories, including Lady Gaga, SZA, Maren Morris and Ella Mai.

The three-and-a-half hour extravaganza will feature performances from nominees Chloe X Halle, Grammy-winner Lady Gaga (choosing this over the Bafta film awards), fellow victor Mark Ronson and Grammy nominee Travis Scott fresh off his performance at Super Bowl LIII. When asked about the lack of women in the top categories at the 2018 Grammys, Recording Academy CEO Neil Portnow said women need to "step up".

Ariana Grande, with two nominations in the pop field, pulled out of the show late last week after a dispute with producers over which songs she would perform.

Microsoft begs you to stop using Internet Explorer
Having one place for employees to go for their internet needs eliminates confusion around which browser to use and when. In a recent blog post, Microsoft warned of the "perils of using Internet Explorer as your default browser ".

Ehrlich told the AP that Grande "felt it was too late for her to pull something together". The show kicks off tonight, February 10 - but before we see singers performing and winners being announced, we need to talk about the #FASHUN.

"It was when my creativity & self-expression was stifled by you that i decided not to attend. I support her and I support her decision", she added.

When she returned onstage for her second win, she was in shock.

Yet Sunday's show, billed as music's biggest night, is going ahead without leading nominees Kendrick Lamar, Drake, and Childish Gambino, the alter ego of actor Donald Glover. A study released by the University of Southern California's Annenberg Inclusion Initiative days before the ceremony found that of the 899 individuals who had been nominated for the previous six shows, 90.7 percent were men.

Drama has also surrounded the Grammys around its Motown Records tribute: Some people complained when a promo aired on CBS showing Jennifer Lopez as the act set to honor the legendary record label, which launched the careers of Jackson 5, the Supremes, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and more.

We couldn't be more excited to see what the 15-time Grammy victor does with this year's show - and we know she's pretty psyched about it too!
