Holder has been a central figure in West Indies securing a first series win over England since 2009, and their first over any side other than Bangladesh and Zimbabwe since 2012.

"Jason now has the opportunity to benefit from resting his body over the period of the next Test, and be well prepared for the upcoming ODI series against England which begins on February 20", he added.

A day after Jason Holder led West Indies to a historic series win against England, the International Cricket Council suspended the skipper because of his team's slow over rate during the second match in Antigua.

As Sportsmail revealed, Holder is due to join Northamptonshire at the start of the 2019 domestic season but only if the club agree to restrictions on his participation such as playing as a specialist batsman or limiting the number of overs he is permitted to bowl.

England coach, Trevor Bayliss, had said the surface "wasn't the greatest wicket we've ever seen in world cricket". "This is an important match for our careers", he said. Bravo also admitted "it wasn't the best".

England have long struggled to find a strong opening pair and the problem has worsened after the experienced Alastair Cook retired a year ago, leaving them searching for solutions ahead of the Ashes series which gets underway at Edgbaston on 1 August.

That could prove especially problematic as Antigua is pencilled in - the venues are not confirmed - to host a Test against India in August.

Meanwhile, there has been no change in the MRF Tyres ICC Test Team Rankings, which are updated at the end of each series.

Clarke is one of the most exciting talents in county cricket, averaging just under 40.

West Indies have already won the series after taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in 3-match Test series.
