Savage's Lawyer Says Their Are "Ulterior Motives" For His Detainment By ICE

Bebe Rexha has jumped to Demi Lovato's defense after she was accused of poking fun at 21 Savage's arrest.

In addition to making clear that the 26-year-old's in-doubt immigration status arose through no fault of his own, his lawyers also countered claims by ICE about their client's criminal past.

The rapper, whose real name is Sha'yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, reportedly had a children's visa when he was younger, which expired in 2005. They also said that he was driving across a sidewalk in order to get to another street.

The police reports - according to TMZ - state that 21 had a "fully loaded glock" in the lockbox of the red dodge challenger he was pulled over in.

"Mr. Abraham-Joseph was taken into ICE custody as he is unlawfully present in the U.S. and also a convicted felon", ICE spokesman Bryan Cox said in a statement. The visa is available to those who have been the victims of a crime in the United States, have suffered physical or mental injury as a result of a crime and who are "helpful to law enforcement or government officials in the investigation or prosecution of criminal activity", according to ICE. The tabloid publication reported that they weren't listed at the time of the rapper's arrest in the police report.

It was also confirmed that Jay-Z's company, Roc Nation has responded to what it calls a "matter of injustice" by hiring attorney Alex Spiro to assist with his case.

Bradley Cooper says he was 'embarrassed' by Oscars Best Director snub
Gaga is confirmed to perform " Shallow " with Bradley Cooper at the Oscars on February 28, but he will not be at the Grammys . Cooper received nominations for best actor and best adapted screenplay and the film itself was nominated for best picture.

Law firm Kuck Baxter Immigration released a statement earlier this week saying U.S. officials have known about Abraham-Joseph's immigration status since at least 2017 when he sought a new visa, and while that application is pending the rapper should not be subject to detainment.

The rapper, whose real name is She'yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, was arrested on Sunday amid allegations he's a United Kingdom national who has been living in America since 2005 without the correct paperwork, and he has been detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) ever since and threatened with deportation.

In the meantime, a legal team is now working on a case for 21 Savage, and say it was all a 'misunderstanding'.

Abraham-Joseph has been placed into removal proceedings, ICE said.

21 Savage is a major figure in Atlanta's vibrant rap scene.

Abraham-Joseph has three children who are American citizens, which his lawyers say make him eligible for deportation relief.
