Does it retain that crown?

From an economic and market perspective, the Motorola G7 refresh isn't technologically disruptive as much as it is financially. The Moto G7 Power and Moto G7 Play both also have a front-facing 8-megapixel camera, but only a single rear sensor-12-megapixel on the former and 13-megapixel on the latter. It's more than manageable.

The complete range consists of Moto G7 Play, G7 Power, G7 and G7 Plus. We'd like to have seen an official IP waterproof rating for this model though, not just a water repellant coating again. Motorola says it added the new model to the line-up because it saw that battery power was a pain-point with consumers, and it thought it could solve the issue.

If you want a phone that's going to last a lot longer then the Moto G7 Power could be for you. Shortly after it hits carriers, the G7 Power will go on sale unlocked through Best Buy, B&H Photo, Walmart, and Amazon. It's a great move.

The Moto G7 is largely based on the same hardware as the Plus, but scales back on a few things, including the price tag. It's hard to tell what the display is like without using the device for longer, but Full HD+ is in line with competition at this price and the form factor makes it more exciting than the G6 Plus, which had a perfectly ample screen.

Anyway, the Power splits the difference between the vanilla G7 and the Play. The smartphone comes with 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel dual-rear cameras. The Moto G family is exhibit A for the premium phone/affordable price movement.

Well, we have some good news and some bad news for you this morning. There is an Auto Capture feature that will automatically capture an image when it detects a smile. The model will launch unlocked in the U.S. this spring.

Haas has revealed the new colour scheme it will carry for the 2019 Formula One season. "It's the flawless platform for our brand".

The Moto G7 play will be available in the United Kingdom from March 1 at Vodafone, Tesco, John Lewis and other participating resellers with a starting RRP of £149. Using the rule of thirds, the Smart Composition feature will automatically take a second image alongside the image the user takes. This feature will be on by default though you can turn if off.

Other features include manual mode, portrait mode and spot colour, all of which are available on the Moto G6 Plus and found in the mode section - swipe left to right in the camera app. There is also an 8MP primary shooter upfront with selfie and video calling.

The Moto G7 can be described as the flagship in the budget series. There's 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage, which should be enough for the vast majority of people.

Moto G7 Play runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 processor with 2GB of RAM.

While the RAM and storage remain the same as the 2018 model, the G7 Plus does reduce its battery capacity to 3000mAh from 3200mAh. All four of the new models, the Moto G7, Moto G7 Plus, Moto G7 Power, and Moto G7 Play, share modern amenities such as Android Pie, a near bezel-less screen with a notch, a headphone jack, and support for external storage.

CNET has the rundown and initial takes of the devices, but all you really need to know is that the Moto devices will have an updated pure version of Android at prices that nearly make an annual upgrade a no brainer.

United States The new moto g7 will be released in the USA starting this spring and will be universally unlocked at Best Buy, B&H Photo, Walmart and on with subsequent availability at Google Fi, Republic Wireless and Ting.
