We are working closely together and decided on Jan 19 itself to consistently take up the matter with EC. The EC, however, clarified that the EVMs can not be tampered with, asserting that the machines are manufactured following "rigorous standard operating procedures". He was presented at a press conference organised by the Indian Journalists' Association (Europe).

Election Commission once again rejected the claim that EVMs can be tampered asserting that it stands by empirical facts about the foolproof nature of its EVMs. There have also been demands to bring back ballot paper voting to ensure fair elections.

TOI had on Monday reported that EC would register a criminal case under Section 505 of IPC and that enquiries by EC with ECIL had ruled out Shuja being its regular employee or on the EVM design team.

Congress leader Kapil Sibal was in the crowd at the news conference.

Stating that Sibal's visit was no accident, Naqvi accused UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Congress President Rahul Gandhi of sending him to the event.

Within hours of a US-based hacker claiming that 2014 general elections were rigged, the Election Commission of India (EC) has come out refuting the claims saying that the EVMs are foolproof and the commission is now analysing what legal action to be taken regarding the press conference in London.

Ray also seemed defensive about Shuja's claims, saying, "Admittedly, accusations made were very serious, which he could not substantiate. We did give them a possible solution which they were not able to use: they did not participate in the challenge thrown by the (poll panel) to hack EVMs (in 2018)". "Yes, every vote counts", she tweeted.

IMF Warns of Risks to Global Growth, Advance Economies to Fall Sharply
The IMF is forecasting growth in China of 6.2 per cent this year and next, unchanged from its previous forecasts. He said: 'These developments threaten to fragment the worldwide order that has governed the global economy.

"The 2014 general elections were rigged", he claimed.

The cyber expert claimed that the EVMs were hacked by the BJP using a modulator which transmits military-grade frequency. There was no immediate reaction from the BJP.

"In Delhi state elections in 2015, we managed to intercept the transmission, resulting in the AAP winning 67 out of 70 seats".

He claimed that several of his team members were shot dead during a meeting with a BJP leader there and that he too was shot and injured but managed to flee.

In his yet to be substantiated allegations, Shuja has also accused the BJP of orchestrating the murder of his team members after they helped the party figure out this hack, as well as inciting a riot in Hyderabad in May 2014 to cover up the act.

After Kapil Sibal's presence at the event stoked a controversy, Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi said on Monday that Sibal attended the event as he was invited by a journalist and didn't go there as a Congress representative.
