Ivanka Trump worked with the World Bank to help launch a $350 million women's entrepreneurship fund in 2017.

Kim abruptly announced Monday he was cutting short his tenure as the bank's president more than three years before his second term was due to end.

Ivanka has experience working with the Trump Organisation and managing her own lifestyle and fashion brand.

She began her career as a model before moving into business and accompanying her father at the boardroom table on the hit TV show 'The Apprentice'.

In addition to Trump and Haley, who stepped down as US Ambassador to the United Nations last month, other names being floated include Treasury Undersecretary for International Affairs David Malpass and Mark Green, head of the US Agency for International Development, the newspaper reported.

"The Executive Directors agreed that candidates should be committed to the implementation of the Forward Look and the capital package agreement as articulated in the Sustainable Financing for Sustainable Development Paper", the statement said. The US Treasury Department is said to have already received "a significant number of recommendations for good candidates" and kicked off "the internal review process" to decide on the candidate.

The US prevailed in selecting its preferred candidate over challengers from Nigeria and Colombia, but the process was grueling.

The World Bank said it would accept nominations from around the world for its next president starting next month, with a goal of having the new chief in office for the bank's spring meetings in early April.

Kim first became the 12th president of the World Bank on July 1, 2012.

Trump's Administration has been opposed to globalist institutions such as the World Bank, but will now been tasked with suggesting someone for the role.
