Health Facility CEO Resigns After Woman In Vegetative State Raped Multiple Times

The unidentified patient, a 29-year-old Native American woman, has been in a vegetative state for 14 years after a near-drowning incident. Her identity hasn't been reported, and it's not known if she has family or a guardian.

In the same statement, Gary Orman, executive vice president of the board, said Hacienda "will accept nothing less than a full accounting of this absolutely horrifying situation, an unprecedented case that has devastated everyone involved, from the victim and her family to Hacienda staff at every level of our organization".

Hacienda HealthCare is a private company with 40 programs serving 4,500 patients a year, the majority of whom are children and young adults.
