After Samsung and Asus' announcements, Acer has unveiled a curious $4,000 convertible laptop named the Predator Triton 900. It is also powered by up to Intel's 8th generation Core i7 processor paired with up to Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 GPU.

The Predator Triton 900 and 500 both earn their gaming cred with Acer's advanced cooling system that includes 4th Gen AeroBlade™ 3D metal fans that increase airflow by 45 percent, and Coolboost™ technology that keeps the notebooks cool during extended gaming sessions and while playing demanding AAA titles. It has a flipping screen and offers better ergonomics.

While the Triton 900 will cater to a small market, consumers who want a traditional clamshell laptop solution can check out the Triton 500, which starts from $1,799. That display can be flipped around to cover the keyboard, making this not just a gaming laptop but a convertible laptop. The company designed an "Ezel Areo Hinge" that's attached to the 4K 17-inch display of the Triton 900. An RTX 2060 or RTX 2080 with Max-Q design, the same Core i7-8750H processor, two 512GB PCIe SSDs in RAID 0, and up to 32GB of memory are available.

It looks like Acer was waiting for Nvidia Turing graphics to make their way to laptops, as we finally have the specs.

For those that may not be completely sold on PC gaming or just really enjoy the feel of a controller in hand, an Xbox wireless receiver is included so that games on Windows 10 can be played with an Xbox controller. The Triton 500 offers superb gaming performance in a slimmer, all-metal body and empowers gamers on the go. Acer is also releasing a new mobile app later this year that will allow users to control things like overclocking, fan speeds, lighting, etc. on their Acer gaming devices from their phone. The Predator Triton 500 is the thinner of the two systems at 17.9mm, and it weighs just 4.6lbs. It will also enable users to view and set customised macro key sets for physical hotkeys.

Triton 500 starts at $1,799.99 and will be available in U.S. later this quarter.

The Predator Triton 900 has been priced at $3,999 (roughly Rs. 2,82,200) and will will be available in North America, China, Europe, Middle East, and Africa in March.
