Bears kicker Cody Parkey walks off after missing a potential game-winning field goal in the final seconds against the Eagles on Sunday at Soldier Field in Chicago.

The snap went down, the kick went up, and the hearts of Chicago fans sank around the country.

And, even more remarkably, Parkey's effort hit the left-hand upright, then bounced off the crossbar before falling back towards play. After the game, he took full responsibility for the missed goal.

Parkey was mercilessly booed off the field after the kick double-boinked off the uprights.

You can listen to the radio call below.

Following the loss, Parkey seemed perplexed about the miss, and that's because he thought he hit the ball well. People around the country took to social media to criticize, threaten, demean, humiliate, and attack the 2014 Pro Bowl kicker following his first season wearing a Bears uniform.

They may not want to talk about it now, but this team is still going to be a legitimate Super Bowl contender for years to come.
