Prosecutors and a lawyer for Jazmine's family, S. Lee Merritt, named the second suspect as Larry Woodruffe, 24, who is also black and was at the Harris County jail on Sunday on a drug possession charge.

Prosecutors say he was driving the vehicle that pulled alongside the Barnes family auto and that someone else shot into the auto. Black told investigators "LW" - identified in court only as "Larry" - was seated in the front passenger seat of a rental auto and fired at the vehicle carrying Jazmine.

Black activist John Marsden, who had joined the search for Jazmine's attacker, said he had difficulty accepting that the suspect was black. Officials said Black later admitted to the shooting.

Authorities said they acted upon a tip to determine Black was a suspect, eventually taking him into custody in East Harris County.

Jazmine will also be honored Tuesday in a "Justice for Jazmine Barnes Community Rally" honoring homicide victims in Harris County, according to organizers.

Prosecutors said Barnes was killed as a product of mistaken identity.
