America's 41st president died late Friday at his home in Houston.

Those reflections will continue throughout the week, when Bush's casket travels from Houston, Bush's hometown, to Washington, DC to lie in state in the United States Capitol. A funeral service is set for Wednesday at the National Cathedral.

X-Men actress Olivia Munn shared the photo, saying: "President George H.W. Bush".

In a second message, she said she hoped readers and ticket holders would understand the decision "and join me in paying tribute" to Bush and "his tremendous contributions to our world".

Members of the family, including children and grandchildren, will be taking part in each service.

Bush's death reduces membership in the ex-presidents' club to four: Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, George W Bush and Barack Obama.

Bush's death has also led to a series of symbolic moments.

The picture was tweeted by Mr Bush's spokesman, Jim McGrath, showing Sully next to Mr Bush's casket on Sunday along with the caption: "Mission complete".

Sully is named after the airline pilot Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger, who landed a passenger jet on the Hudson River in 2009, saving all 155 passengers and crew on board. His final resting place will be alongside Barbara Bush, his wife of 73 years who died in April at the age of 92, and Robin Bush, the daughter they lost to leukemia in 1953 at age three.
