You can now make Skype calls on Amazon Alexa devices

Sign in using the same Microsoft account you use on Skype. Per The Verge, Pandora Premium users are now able to stream songs, full albums, and playlists to Echo devices, and you can also set Pandora as the default music library on Alexa. Skype can be activated through the Amazon Alexa app, through the Communications tab within Settings.

Credit: Tom's GuideMicrosoft has announced that you can now use Echo devices to make Skype calls. When someone is calling you, you can simply say "Alexa, pick up" to answer the call.

Along with Android Pie , Google also introduced Digital Wellbeing which is aimed at making users aware of their usage habits. Some are also reporting receiving a "can't connect to camera" message when trying to launch a third-party camera app.

The Alexa-enabled devices like the Echo Dot can be used to make hands-free Skype voice calls whenever Alexa and Skype are available.

Customers are being offered 100 free minutes of calls per month to link their Skype account to their Alexa account. Other countries will get it soon. With millions of users on Skype, this opens a potential market for Amazon for the Echo Show as a simple solution for video calling.

According to Microsoft, Skype calling is compatible with all Echo devices release thus far, going back to the first generation Echo.

Furthermore, in addition to audio and video calling, Skype is also providing the ability for the Alexa users to call most of the landlines and mobiles numbers using Skype to phone, even for worldwide calls.
