Lee Child to make a reboot of Jack Reacher without Tom Cruise

Child told the radio station that there won't be more Jack Reacher movies, stating, "Cruise, for all his talent, didn't have that physicality". "I really enjoyed working with Cruise", he continued. He's a really nice guy. "We had a lot of fun", he said. "But ultimately the readers are right".

In the Jack Reacher series, the title character is a U.S. Army veteran who works as a detective for hire.

He said: "Cruise, for all his talent, didn't have that physicality".

Reacher, according to Vanity Fair, is repeatedly described in Child's 22 novels as a massive six feet five inches tall-dwarfing Cruise's reported five-foot-seven build-with hands the size of, alternately, Thanksgiving turkeys, dinner plates, and rotisserie chickens.

Tom Cruise starred in two Jack Reacher movies, and both did well at the box office. He also mentioned that he wants the readers who were dissatisfied with Cruise to give suggestions on an actor who would fit the part. "We're going to take it to Netflix or something like that". Cruise nailed the intimidating nature of Reacher, and McQuarrie's first film remains a really swell hard-boiled thriller.

I have never read the Jack Reacher books as they are not my kind of novel, I thought Jack Reacher was ok, but never saw the sequel.

"That will have one sad, awkward effect in that Tom Cruise doesn't act on television so we will have to have a new lead actor".
