As previously announced, Ryan Reynolds voices the little yellow guy - to the profound disappointment of Danny Devito fans everywhere - and it toes a line between freaky and kind of incredible?

It looks like the Pokemon will do the catching this time around.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said a member of the special unit involved was killed and another was lightly wounded. The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza said three people were killed and at least two injured in the air raids.

Ryan Reynolds doing his Deadpool schtick as the voice of Pikachu is what we need and deserve on a Monday.

The trailer also features other Pokemon like Psyduck, Jigglypuff, Bulbasaur, Charlizard, Charmander and more. The film follows a young boy (portrayed by Justice Smith) who comes into contact with a Pikachu (voiced by Ryan Reynolds) that wants to be a detective. He speaks English - which, the trailer explains, only Tim can understand. It's just amusing to see another trailer drop so soon; you have to wonder if it's because Disney wasn't happy with Monday's stolen thunder.

Detective Pikachu is set to hit cinemas mid next year.
