Sarkar Film Row: Director AR Murugadoss applies for anticipatory bail

The film with Vijay and Keerthi Suresh in the lead roles, was directed by AR Murugadoss and the music was set to tune by Oscar victor AR Rahman.

Thalapathy Vijay's Sarkar seems to run into controversies.

After the protest of ADMK cadres, team Sarkar has agreed to remove the controversial scene in the film.

Passing interim orders on the anticipatory bail application filed by Murugadoss, who apprehended arrest in connection with some complaints lodged against him, Justice G K Ilanthiraiyan directed him to co-operate with the police and adjourned the matter to November 27.

Sarkar has been edited and re-censored after members of AIADMKprotested against the portrayal of government schemes and former chief minister JJayalalithaa in the film. "So the issue has come to an end".

The film released on 3000 screens, with Kerala - which is one of the strongest regions for actor Vijay - screening 1763 shows on Day 1.Sarkar is the second highest opener in India with Thugs of Hindostan, which released on Thursday, on numero uno position with an opening collection of Rs 52.25 crore. Head of the Tamil Nadu Theatres Association Abirami Ramanathan confirmed to TNM about the cuts carried out in the movie. Now, as the makers of the film Sun Pictures Tweeted, police have been at the director's home to arrest him.
