The watch, which passed through the FCC in September will be available in two sizes: 41mm or 43mm, with a body made from nylon topped with silver, rose gold, gold, blue or red coloured aluminium. Additionally, the Fossil Sport also features a new battery-saving mode; enhanced ambient mode; and integrated heart rate, NFC and Global Positioning System capabilities. Now the Fossil Sport Smartwatch is the second wearable featuring Qualcomm's Wear 3100 platform, running Google's redesigned Wear OS.

The company says the 350 mAh unit, with the help of Wear 3100, will be able to eke out a day of life based on the "full smartwatch experience", which we assume includes some HR tracking and Global Positioning System.

No details on the specs have been announced beyond that it will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 SoC, and will come with a battery capable of full days use with a battery saver mode that can extend to two days.

And, naturally, the whole show will continue to run on Google's Wear OS platform, which was recently given a makeover in order to improve day-to-day usability. But the Fossil Sport at least sounds like it's not outrageously priced.

Fossil just debuted what it's calling its most colourful smartwatch ever - and it might be its most powerful, too.

With that processor, Fossil says that we can expect a 24 hour lifespan from the Sport's 350mAh battery, which is larger than some previous smartwatch models the company has offered.

We'll be posting our in-depth review of the device over the coming weeks, so be sure to check back to see if the Sport lives up to the billing.
