Arsenal boss Emery upset for Welbeck after 'big injury'

Ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash between Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers, Sports Mole looks at how Unai Emery's side could line up in North London.

But it was Welbeck's injury just before the half hour mark that was the main talking point from a largely forgettable Emirates Stadium encounter.

Salzburg, semi-finalists last season, qualified for the next round with a 5-2 thrashing of Rosenborg in the group´s other match, as Japanese forward Takumi Minamino scored a hat-trick.

Meanwhile, Carl Jenkinson and Emile Smith Rowe get another opportunity to impress.

Thursday's draw ensured they stayed three points clear of Sporting in Group H, with 10 points from four matches ensuring they are certain of a place in the last 32.

Welbeck has always been Arsenal's go to man on Europa League nights, scoring five goals in his past 13 appearances in the competition, but he looks set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after landing on his ankle awkwardly.

Democrats also raised concerns about the appointment of Whitaker, 49, who will now oversee Mueller's probe. He also said there was no evidence Russian Federation interfered in the election at all.

Welbeck had to be stretchered off with oxygen in the Europa League tie, as teammates looked on in horror.

It was the hosts that took the game to their opponents, and they were lucky to still be on level terms before half-time. Matteo Guendouzi slots into midfield with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Aaron Ramsey, while Danny Welbeck is up top.

Stephan Lichtsteiner played the ball into the 27-year-old in a crowded box.

And while Nelson may not be a ready-made replacement for Welbeck, Emery says he is keeping a keen eye on his progress.

The second half continued in the same vein as the home side attempted to make inroads into the Lisbon backline but Arsenal simply couldn't break down their resolute visitors who had Mathieu sent off late on for cynically hacking down Aubameyang.
