Pavkov scored a first-half brace as Red Star stunned Liverpool 2-0 in Belgrade to claim their first win - qualifiers excluded - in Europe's premier club competition since 1992.

Klopp's side slipped to a shock 2-0 defeat in their Champions League clash with Red Star Belgrade in midweek and the German boss will be looking for a response.

Liverpool, last season's finalist, arrived in Belgrade in first place in the group but will be overtaken by either Napoli or Paris Saint-Germain, who meet in Naples later Tuesday.

The Reds have dropped points in four of their last seven games in all competitions after a flying start to the new campaign.

At the moment they stay second in the table on six points and there still remain a number of permutations which will see them qualify.

"I think it made sense to make a few changes, a few we had to make and a few we wanted to".

"I felt they handed the momentum to Red Star and they managed to keep it for the rest of the game". In all areas, we didn't start and when you don't start well in the Champions League you can get punished. They deserved it for the passion they showed.

"We knew this group was going to be tough and it's proving that way".

Liverpool finishes the group with a trip to PSG and a home game against Napoli.

"We were not surprised by Red Star's tactics".

Speaking of the Switzerland international's situation, the manager said, "We have heard and read the speculation and talk about what kind of reception Shaq would receive and although we have no idea what would happen, we want to go there and be focused 100 per cent on football and not have to think about anything else, that's all".
