Elon Musk's Tesla Just Passed By Mars

SpaceX launched the Tesla Roadster and its inanimate passenger, Starman, into space as the payload on the Falcon Heavy rocket's first voyage in February 2018. In a follow-up tweet, he explained further, naming India, Africa and South America as markets for partial presence by end of 2019 with further expansion the following year.

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said that the reason for putting Starman into space was that it was more fun than the typical payload dummy that space companies use to test their rockets. Or the tweets are just Musk being faux-modest about what his company's accomplished. But nothing is impossible for the Musk.

"I was told that 30% of parts must be locally sourced and the supply doesn't yet exist in India to support that."
