Oprah responds to racist robocalls targeting her and Stacey Abrams

"I think it's outrageous", Levin said.

Now that Democrat Abrams stands a good chance of pulling off an upset in a conservative stronghold state, Kemp may just want to have an excuse to contest the results should the election not tip in his favor. But when he was told on Friday that he had once again failed in his job, instead of fixing the problem he blamed the Democratic Party of Georgia. The Center for Internet Security, the nonprofit group that runs the Election Infrastructure Information Sharing and Analysis Center, did not respond to questions about Kemp's claim.

The alleged hacking attempt occurred Saturday evening, according to the Secretary of State's Office. Unlike almost every Democrat before her in Georgia, Abrams has run an unapologetically progressive campaign after many, many, many half-in, half-out Democrats have tried mightily to appeal to Georgia's large Republican population, only to lose anyway.

Both Abrams and Kemp condemned the robocall.

Finally, no matter what happens, expect a hard look in the state and around the country next year at whether a sitting secretary of state should oversee his or her own election to higher office in the future.

Kemp's office released a vague news release on Sunday that referred to "possible cyber crimes", and adding that "no personal data was breached and our system remains secure". "That's why it takes constant vigilance". On Sunday, Trump flew Air Force One to a middle Georgia airfield and called him "a great leader". But Kemp has a history of rebuffing offers for assistance on cybersecurity. Amid the furor over the purported hacking, Kemp announced Monday that the state had not only broken its 2014 record, but has set a new, all-time record for early voting in a midterm election. "In an act of desperation, the Democrats tried to expose vulnerabilities in Georgia's voter registration system".

Apple is also said to have revised planned units for older iPhone models for this quarter from 20 million to 25 million. Weakened demand for smartphones globally might not hurt Apple's revenue too much, but suppliers could feel the strain.

Last week Oprah shared clips of her and her team canvassing homes in Georgia on Thursday to urge residents to get out and vote for Democratic Abrams.

A report by The Associated Press said that under the "exact match" law, Kemp had stalled more than 50,000 voter registrations by mostly black voters.

A voice heard in the offensive recording, which was aired on CNN, told listeners: "This is the magical negro, Oprah Winfrey, asking you to make my fellow negress, Stacey Abrams, governor of Georgia".

"If there are long lines because suddenly there's been a disruption between a server and an [electronic] poll book, that could be an issue where someone's attempting to do a denial-of-service attack", he said.

Neither Cross nor the state party went public.

In the voting integrity case, a federal judge last month endorsed the plaintiff's arguments that Kemp has been derelict in his management of the state election system and that it violates voters' constitutional rights with its lack of verifiability and reliability.
