For performance, the Galaxy A9 will rely on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE chipset coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB of the base model.

The new phone also comes with a fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone, mobile payment capabilities and expandable storage of up to 512GB - all features common on high-end smartphones. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box with Samsung Experience skin on top.

To be precise, the Galaxy A9 2018's camera setup comprises a 24MP f/1.7 main shoot; a 10MP f/2.4 2x optical zoom lens; an 8MP f/2.4 ultra wide-angle lens; and a 5MP f/2.2 lens for depth.

Samsung states that the Galaxy A9 will be available in select markets starting from November but did not care to divulge the pricing details right now.

There's a trio of colours with silly names to choose from as well: Lemonade Blue, Caviar Black, and Bubblegum Pink. For more storage, there is a microSD card slot on the device. This makes the device more expensive than previous phones that appeared in the A line.

Michael to strengthen to hurricane as it nears Florida, say forecasters
The exact path and timing of Michael's arrival and impacts will depend on forward motion of the storm. Before Michael hits the United States, it's expected to dump 3 to 7 inches of rain on western Cuba.

The 8 MP camera comes with 120-degree Ultra-Wide angle lens. This has Scene Optimiser, which uses AI scene recognition to identify the subject and adjust settings accordingly.

The Galaxy A9 will cost between €550 and €599 ($635 and $690), according to AllAboutSamsung.

Samsung officially launched the Galaxy A9 here in Malaysia. Connectivity options include Cat.9 LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port.

If you think this is the phone for you then there's more good news as the A9 lands in your pocket for a very reasonable £549 - £190 less than the Galaxy S9. The four-camera highlight is first of kind for the smartphone tech.

The Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) is a dual SIM (GSM) smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM. I couldn't test the Face Unlock during my limited time with the device, but Samsung has been delivery quality in A series of phones, so we don't expect it to go wrong there. Battery capacity information wasn't included in yesterday's leaks, but Samsung claims the A9 will ship with a 3,800mAh battery.
