Joker Camera Test Puts Makeup on Phoenix's Arthur Fleck

The look is a departure from Joker's traditional supervillain style, but it's likely this won't be Phoenix's final look as the fully formed Clown Prince of Crime.

It then showed a long-haired Phoenix looking sternly at the camera as faded images of his made-up face flashed over his face as he gradually began to grin. Up until now, we've only seen Joaquin Phoenix in his Arthur Fleck days both in set pictures and in a portrait released by Phillips himself. Pictures' Joker, starring Oscar nominee Joaquin Phoenix in the title role, alongside Oscar victor Robert De Niro, and directed, produced and co-written by Oscar nominee Todd Phillips.

Though the tease is incredibly short, if you look closely enough, it appears that Phoenix will be rocking the standard purple jacket with an orange and blue shirt underneath.

Joker won't be hitting theaters until October 2019, but it's already generating a lot of buzz.

There are roughy 73874239 Joker movies in development, but director Todd Phillips' upcoming project has the edge - an actual Joker. This could just be coincidence, but if not, and with a separate Joker standalone movie planned with Jared Leto, could this be an origin story focused around the Joker we see in The Dark Knight trilogy? In addition to its leading man, Joker - which is being produced by Martin Scorsese - also stars Robert De Niro, Marc Maron, Frances Conroy and Zazie Beetz.
