These stories are now being told through a cookbook which comprises family recipes written by the women of the Hubb Community Kitchen.

After marrying Prince Harry on May 19, the former Suits star officially became a member of the royal family.

In an unprecedented move, Meghan invited her to the event, and they appeared together in public for the first time since May's royal wedding.

Sitting in the front seat of a Land Rover Discovery with her daughter and son-in-law, Prince Harry, in the back, Ragland stepped out to greet waiting guests at Kensington Palace for the launch of Together: Our Community Cookbook.

After lending a hand in the cooking and preparation, Markle and her guests-among them members of the local community, the Al Manaar Muslim Cultural Heritage Center and representatives from the publishers of the book, Ebury Press-dined together and tasted the homemade dishes featured in the cookbook, including coconut chicken curry, aubergine masala and caramelized plum upside-down cake.

It turns out that the charity recipe book the Duchess of Sussex has thrown her support behind has rocketed to the top of Amazon's bestseller list on pre-orders alone.

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has proved her reputation as a revolutionary royal at her first solo regal charity project.

Meghan was inspired by the project and how it empowers women at a grassroots level.

Meghan says she felt "embraced" by the women from the community kitchen after just moving to London. "I'm just as excited as you are".

She continued: "Everyone embraced this so deeply because it's been a passion project for all of us, and for very good reason".

In her speech, which was made without notes, Meghan thanked all those involved, adding: "On a personal note I'm especially grateful because this is my first project so I appreciate your support and the vision that I had for this and seeing it come to fruition".

Markle went on to emphasize the power that food can have in people's lives. Use #GeniusKitchen to let us know what you're sharing! "To be able to celebrate what connects us rather than what divides us, I believe, is the ethos of Together".
