She may wind up being prone to questionable judgment or the occasional goofy exploit, as have so many of her forebears, but what we see thus far in the Thirteenth Doctor is a real hero, and one we're pumped to spend a series with.

Jodie Whittaker is the new star of Doctor Who, and hopefully by now the show's angry male fans have learned to accept that.

There's a lot of running through spaceships and across presumably alien planets. It's all tracked to the song "Glorious" by Macklemore featuring Skylar Grey.

With her beaming smile and colorful outfit, Whittaker and new showrunner Chris Chibnall are bringing in a new age for Doctor Who.

Why Meghan Markle has been going on secret 'incognito' trips to London
He told People her routine has changed since becoming a royal and there's one type of make-up she's not allowed to wear. Meghan's cousins only learned about their connections to her right before the big day in May.

"Sometimes I see things need fixing", the Doctor tells us, giving us an idea of this new Doctor's more optimistic ethos.

Whittaker will be joined by an all-new cast of characters in the series, including Bradley Walsh, Tosin Cole and Mandip Gill. And can she help solve the odd events taking place across the city? Now, the official trailer has arrived from the BBC, and although there's not much plot in the mix yet, the newest Time Lord shall please audiences by uttering, "I'm the Doctor" before diving straight into the action. The season premiere of Doctor Who couldn't run toward us fast enough.

Whittaker is about to become the 13th incarnation of the iconic Time Lord (well, 14th, if you want to get technical), and the first woman to play the role in the 55-year history of the beloved BBC sci-fi franchise.
