A landslide over the iconic Navagio beach on Zakynthos island has reportedly injured three people.

One of the Ionian island's main attractions, Navagio has a shipwreck on the shore and is surrounded by steep cliffs.

Navagio is one of Greece's most popular beaches, taking its name from the remains of a cargo ship that was wrecked there almost 40 years ago. At least seven people received minor injuries.

In total, seven people suffered non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the rockslide, including a 34-year-old Czech woman who was hospitalized with a spinal injury, the Associated Press reported.

A couple of small boats overturned from the force of the fall that caused high waves, witnesses told authorities.

In a tweet , Tesla CEO Elon Musk said the company's models will now be available in five primary colors. Company shares fell more than 2 percent.

He said: "I thought more was coming and I just started running". Meanwhile, some boats were capsizing in the strong waves.

Greek news outlet Nooz said early reports that said three people were injured and others were missing were inaccurate.

"We haven't found any trapped people but we will continue searching", a spokesperson for the fire brigade said. Rescue services employed sniffer dogs to search the beach itself for possible victims of the rockfall.

The coast guard said later that those who had headed to the beach on tourist boats had all been accounted for.

He said: "The rock that fell would be like a four-storey building falling on to the beach".
