Samsung has scheduled an event in Malaysia on October 11, where the company is expected to launch a new smartphone under its Galaxy lineup. The invitations are pretty sparse on detail.

We've already seen Samsung Galaxy S9 and more recently Galaxy Note 9 redefine the flagship nature of smartphones, nonetheless the competition remains stringent.

Samsung just sent out invites for an event for next month during which we're likely to hear about a brand new Galaxy device of some sort.

At the start of the month, Ice Universe, a prominent Samsung leaker with a reputation for being reliable, Tweeted that the company had a phone with four rear cameras in the works. When someone asked "both front and back", @UniversalIce responded with "all back". Perhaps that means this will be the first phone to come with four cameras?

The event's central tagline reads "4X fun".

Hurricane Florence Reduces Its Intensity But Not Its Destructive Power
However, the surge is expected to be accompanied by large and destructive waves, regardless of when the storm arrives. Service forecaster Brandon Locklear predicted Florence would drop up to eight months of rain in two or three days.

The word "capture" in the invite also suggests it's camera related. As for what type of phone Samsung might be unveiling, that's up in the air too.

Samsung could be hinting at either 4x zoom or 4 cameras here.

According to previous reports, the Samsung Galaxy S10's triple rear camera setup will bear 12-megapixel lens with f/1.5 to f/2.4 variable aperture, a 16-megapixel super-wide-angle lens (123 degrees) at f/1.9 aperture, and a zoom lens with a 13-megapixel sensor and f/2.4 aperture.

We'll find out for sure on 11th October. when the event is streamed on Samsung's website.
