When Modi wanted to bond with with Trump at USA country retreat

In an interview with Stephen Colbert, Woodward said "these are people who are trying to survive and keep their job, and I know other reporters who've heard things from those people, and they have heard the exact same thing, but it was off the record so they couldn't use it".

Woodward also said he wasn't lying, despite the president's accusations. "But at the same time I'm letting them do what they feel is best". However, some consider him a risky choice because he earned those credentials by defending President Bill Clinton during impeachment proceedings, as well as President George W. Bush during the US attorney firings.

"The Secretary of Defence, Mattis, early this year in a national security council meeting, when Trump kept asking about 'why are we paying all this money for forward deployed troops, 28,000 in South Korea, all of the troops in North Atlantic Treaty Organisation?"

The US president was quoted saying this in senior journalist Bob Woodward's book titled Fear: Trump in the White House.

Donald Trump has the IQ of an "inbred tanning bed", according to the president's former chief economic advisor, Gary Cohn. "I think it's a composite series of opinions from a bunch of people New York Times have on staff or talk to", the radio host said.

Woodward wrote that Kelly called Trump "an idiot". She claims to have had an affair with Trump in 2006.

But according to Woodward, Cohn's message did not seem to connect.

Jaitley also issued a clarification over the matter in his Facebook post. "I did not have any formal meeting scheduled with him". He said Mallya's claim is a vindication of the Congress's stand that the government always knew about the fleeing defaulters.

Porter said that suggesting materials from Trump's desk were "stolen" to prevent the president from taking action "misunderstands how the White House document review process works". The meeting was held a couple of weeks after PM Modi had met Donald Trump after he became US President.

"The Woodward book is a Joke", Trump tweeted on Monday morning.

Later on during the interview, Woodward put Guthrie on the spot, when she questioned him about specific portions of his book. The Trump White House has shocked him more than any of the eight others he's covered, he added, because Trump fundamentally doesn't understand that national security is more than just the USA military.

It also says that in late 2017, Trump almost sent a tweet about withdrawing "all USA military dependents - thousands of family members of 28,500 troops" from South Korea.

Trump also derided his predecessor's return to politics.

Moreover, he said when the president berates a writer as big as Woodward it doesn't affect the writer much but those insults say a lot about Trump. And with the release of Fear today, the coming days will likely only see even more revelations coming to the surface.
