US captain Jim Furyk named Tony Finau as his fourth and final captain's pick Monday following the completion of the BMW Championship.

Finau, 28, has 11 top-10 finishes this season, including three in majors.

Last week Jim Furyk, the US team captain, used three of his four captain's picks to add Bryson DeChambeau, Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods to the roster.

The matches are September 28-30 outside Paris.

The Ryder Cup team includes three rookies (Finau, DeChambeau and Justin Thomas) and nine major champions (with 31 total major victories).

The eight Americans who qualified on their own were Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler, Bubba Watson, Webb Simpson and Patrick Reed.

"I'm so excited to be on the Ryder Cup team, and I can not wait to get to Paris", said Finau. "Thanks for all the support", said Finau following the announcement. "I also played on two Junior Ryder Cup teams".

That assessment brought sharp rebukes from officials in Puerto Rico and congressional Democrats. The findings were embraced by the government of Puerto Rico as the study was released.

Finau is one of seven players on the USA team that is in his 20s.

It's an incredible achievement for Finau, who grew up playing golf in Rose Park. And I let the guys on the team know that I'd be a great pick and I'd be ready to go.

Furyk had some options with his final pick.

Tony Finau plays his shot from the fourth tee during the third round of the BMW Championship golf tournament at Aronimink GC. Finau is top 15 on the PGA Tour this season in strokes gained, scoring average, birdies and eagles, so his profile looks pretty delectable for how a Ryder Cup is structured. He turned pro out of high school at age 17 and played several years on the hardscrabble mini-tours before he earned his card on the Tour for 2014.

Tony Finau has been granted the last golden ticket.

"Hopefully I bring something to the team that can help us bring that Cup back".
