Meek Mill to join Eagles owner in suite for season opener

A 45-minute weather delay and a sloppily contested, low-scoring game conspired to put a dent in the ratings for the first official National Football League broadcast of the 2018-19 season, as the Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night served up the smallest audience for a curtain-raiser in a decade.

"I really believe we're going to make those plays as we move forward", an optimistic Ryan said after the game, via Vaughn McClure of ESPN.

During the playoffs last season, the Atlanta Falcons had no red zone offense to speak off against the Philadelphia Eagles which led to them being knocked out. Like the previous loss, Thursday night's failure ended with a boundary pass Jones couldn't corral in bounds.

Inactive players for the Falcons: CB Isaiah Oliver, S Jordan Richards, CB Blidi Wreh-Wilson, G Ben Garland, T Matt Gono, DT Justin Zimmer.

Coach Doug Pederson made it the shortest practice of the spring, but he didn't waste the day.

Tre Sullivan kicked a loose ball on a punt and the Falcons recovered the fumble at the Eagles 32. On third down in Atlanta territory, Foles handed the ball to running back Corey Clement.

That was the last time the Eagles had a meaningful game, beating New England for the championship.

Novak Djokovic sweeps aside del Potro in US Open final
The US Open Men's singles final will be shown LIVE on Star Sports Select 1 and Star Sports Select 1 HD at around 1.30 am IST. After the four wrist surgeries that derailed his career between 2011 and 2015, Del Potro is back to his terrifying best.

Ratings for the NFL's season opener on Thursday night fell 8 percent from last year's opener - to their lowest level in a decade.

Only Philly fans could boo their team off the field in the first half of a game in which the team just raised a Super Bowl banner.

It should come as no surprise that FiveThirtyEight's projections expect big things from the Patriots, who lost to the Eagles in Super Bowl LII.

The Patriots are one of seven franchises to have won consecutive Super Bowls.

"No panic, we're resilient", Pederson said.

The Eagles will be playing without quarterback Carson Wentz, who had surgery last December to fix two torn knee ligaments.
