Green Bay is expected to be a heavyweight in the NFC once again with Rodgers now healthy and finally having signed the lucrative extension. A few hours after Rodgers signed his four-year extension, the former race auto driver popped open a bottle of Armand de Brignac champagne, which you might know better as Ace of Spades.

In a conference call Thursday, Rodgers said he and the Packers considered inserting a player option into his deal, allowing the quarterback to terminate his contract and become a free agent early.

Rodgers, who will turn 35 in December, signed a five-year, $110 million extension before the 2013 season kicked off. Rodgers had previously said he wasn't anxious about a new deal getting done even while other quarterbacks surpassed him in average-annual value.

The deal includes $103 million guaranteed, as well as a signing bonus of $57.5 million. Schefter also reports that Rodgers' contract will carry a cap hit of $33.5 million.

"Thank you to our incredible fan base for inspiring us players to be better year after year".

Chelsea vs Bournemouth: United and Liverpool legend predicts the victor
Chelsea's next Premier League fixture is at home to AFC Bournemouth Saturday afternoon, with the Blues looking to continue their ideal start to the season.

"I think all it really does is just solidify my standing as a part of the future of this football team", he said. "His level of play has been at the highest level and continues to be", Gutekunst said.

He's led the Packers to one Super Bowl win since entering the league. "We expect that and look forward to years to come of that kind of play".

Although it seems the Packers have front-loaded his new deal, being the highest-paid player ever comes with lofty expectations.

Green Bay drafted Rodgers in the first-round of the 2005 NFL Draft.
