Graphics card maker Nvidia has a special event starting on Monday focusing on their GeForce line. The RTX 2080 has its GPU clocked at 1800/1710MHz for base and boost, respectively.

But you may have noticed that Nvidia is using RTX rather than the GTX prefix.

We're expecting to hear out first details about the upcoming Nvidia RTX 2080 graphics cards on this evening, hopefully with the release date and some news about pricing being given up too. At least one source suggests that the RTX 2080 could start at $600, which is the same price that the GTX 1080 launched at back in 2016. A cheaper model, the RTX 2070, will be available for $499, but won't arrive until October. That new nomenclature is a nod to the ray-tracing capabilities of the new Turing architecture. It was here that the manufacturer introduced GeForce RTX, next-generation hardware that promises up to six times faster performance than previous generation video cards.

The big announcement was preceded by extensive remarks from Huang about the significance of the company's Turing enhancements. That task was hard to do well in the past, Huang said in his presentation. Nvidia showed how the new technology will look in upcoming games including Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Metro Exodus.

Brief Korean reunions bring tears for separated families
After graduating from a Seoul university, Park's brother settled in the North Korean coastal town of Wonsan as a dentist in 1946. The ministry estimates there are now about 600,000 to 700,000 South Koreans with immediate or extended relatives in North Korea.

It can also create accurate light reflections on glass, metal, and over the eyes of in-game human characters. Last week, Nvidia's largest and oldest business of selling graphical processing units, or GPUs, for video game players beat analyst estimates, bringing in $1.8 billion compared with estimates of $1.75 billion. Other titles slated to support ray tracing include MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries and Atomic Heart, among others, with more to come, the company said.

Three GPUs were revealed, all in the new RTX 20 series.

Nvidia has also opened pre-orders on the Founder's Editions of the 2080s.
