House of Fraser website down following payment dispute

The move follows a raft of complaints from customers who had not received goods ordered online.

Work at the House of Fraser national supply centre in Wellingborough has ground to a halt following a dispute between the store's new owner and its logistics company.

XPO could now be owed tens of millions of pounds, but under the pre-pack administration deal in which House of Fraser was acquired, the purchases are able to discard existing pension liabilities and creditor claims.

"Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused and thank you from everyone at House of Fraser for your patience at this time".

However, businessman Philip Day, who also wanted to buy House of Fraser, has said Mr Ashley should pay suppliers - who are said to be owed £70m - "in full".

One said on Twitter: "Absolutely disgraceful". I would like to know if I am going to receive my order. Not 1 email concerning delivery or info and now order cancelled and you say email in a few days! "Get my money back ASAP".

Willian Would Not Stay In Chelsea If Conte Continued As Coach
Now we have to continue, because next Saturday Arsenal is waiting, a great game, and we want to win. "I'm here", Willian said. Although it isn't certain yet, it seems Willian will remain a Chelsea player for the remainder of 2018.

Other House of Fraser clothing suppliers have taken action as they negotiate over payments.

HoF has told suppliers they will not be paid for orders dispatched before 10 August.

Customers visiting are presented with a maintenance page stating the retailer is "currently working hard to make some improvements to the website" and are directed to its various social media channels.

House of Fraser's website was taken offline on Wednesday amid the payment dispute with XPO Logistics, which operates two warehouses, in Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire, that handle the retailer's deliveries to stores as well as customers.

To add to the confusion, House of Fraser's website is now down - a holding message says the company is "currently working hard to make some improvements" and the site "will be back up and running as soon as possible".

This led to a product shortages in some outlets.
