West Ham United has signed striker Lucas Perez from Arsenal on a three-year contract, both English Premier League clubs confirmed on Thursday.

"I'm very happy to be here at such an historic Club", Perez told the club's official website.

The midfielder previously had a stint at Aston Villa and made 48 Premier League appearances for the club before they were relegated to the Championship in 2016.

Pellegrini has overhauled West Ham's squad this summer breaking the club's transfer record to sign Felipe Anderson from Lazio while signing Jack Wilshere, Fabian Balbuena, Andriy Yarmolenko, Lukasz Fabianski, Ryan Fredericks, Issa Diop and youngster Xande Silva.

The 29-year-old joined the Gunners two years ago but spent the entirety of last season on loan at former club Deportivo.

It told us we could not expect players to be signed or wages to be competitive while we opposed those ticket price rises. He said: 'Being courageous is the most important thing.

However, the striker then opted to return to Deportivo on loan last season in search of more regular first-team football. West Ham has great fans and plays in an incredible stadium, so to sign here brings me great joy.

'I wish you all the best for the future and I hope you can go and achieve great things'.

It appeared as if new Arsenal boss Unai Emery would give the centre-forward a second chance as he included him in the pre-season tour of Singapore but the Spaniard ultimately moved to West Ham with the Gunners taking a huge hit on their £17m outlay.

"He is a very experienced player that Manuel and I both know well from Spain", said Husillos. He can also cover other positions but it is as a defensive midfielder that he really excels.
