But there's actually another golfer named Tommy Fleetwood, this one a caddy in Florida who once tried to make the Senior Tour.

If you follow golf at all you might recognize the name; British pro Tommy Fleetwood is now ranked 11th in the world and is a trendy pick for this weekend's PGA Championship at Bellerive in St. Louis.

A Twitter user sent a screenshot of his friend's mobile bank statement Wednesday that showed a $154,480 deposit from the European Tour into his friend, Florida resident Tommy Fleetwood's account.

It was not paid, however, to the Tommy Fleetwood who played in the championship and tied for 12th at Carnoustie.

"My friend Tommy is a good guy and would always pay it back".

"I didn't know at first where the money came from because it just appeared as a wire transfer", the Orlando golfer told USA Today.

The elder Fleetwood is now reportedly in the process of returning the money to the World No. 11 Fleetwood, but at least he can now probably say he's received more money as a pro than any of his colleagues.

Hs is now preparing to play at this week's USPGA Championship at Bellerive in Missouri. The only problem? It was the wrong Tommy Fleetwood.

He laughed off the incident after being asked about it following a practice round, saying: "I honestly didn't know anything about it".

Fleetwood's payout was reportedly deposited into the Wells Fargo bank account of a man with the same name, according to a screencap tweeted by golf school owner Greg Thorner, apparently a friend of the other Fleetwood.

"I wouldn't even know if I'd been paid or not because I don't really look", Fleetwood said.
