Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has praised Kepa Arrizabalaga as the Blues smashed the world record fee for a goalkeeper to replace Thibaut Courtois, who is expected to sign for Real Madrid.

The 23-year-old Spain worldwide is now the most expensive goalkeeper of all time and will join the Blues on a seven-year deal.

Chelsea completed the loan of Croatia global Mateo Kovacic on Thursday after having previously reached an agreement with Real Madrid on his season-long move.

Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic is undergoing a medical at Chelsea, who in turn have opened talks with AC Milan regarding a loan move for Tiemoue Bakayoko.

The likes of Athletic Bilbao's Kepa Arrizabalaga, Jan Oblak of Atletico Madrid and Stoke's Jack Butland are potential replacements should Courtois depart, but all parties are up against the transfer deadline to get any potential deals completed. Mario Stanić was the first, followed by goalkeeper Matej Delač, striker Stipe Perica, and offensive midfielder Marijo Pašalić, though they have all been sent out on loan from The Blues.

"We are very happy to welcome Mateo to the Chelsea family", she said.

Since joining, Navas has won three Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup trophies, two UEFA Super Cups, a LaLiga and Spanish Super Cup title.

"His long-term contract reflects the belief we have in him".

Kepa is Spain's number two behind Manchester United's David de Gea.

He is believed to have a release clause of 80m euros (£71m) in his Athletic contract, which the Premier League club are apparently willing to meet.
