Police in NY are investigating after they said a fetus was found in the bathroom of a commercial airliner at LaGuardia Airport early Tuesday, according to WABC. It was the Airbus A321's only flight of the day.

The fetus was reportedly between five and seven months old.

A spokesman for American Airlines said that the incident is under investigation. The City Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy on the fetus.

Airport officials warned travelers about 8 a.m., via Twitter, that flyers traveling from B gates would experience delays because of an "out of service airplane".

"We will release determination when the investigation is complete".

"This is not something that you want to find", said one American Airlines passenger.

"They didn't tell us anything until we were already waiting at the gate", she griped.
