Barcelona have reached agreement with Bayern Munich to sign Chile global midfielder Arturo Vidal, the two European giants announced on Friday.

"Arturo Vidal leaves Bayern and moves to the Spanish top flight with immediate effect for Barcelona. Sevilla FC will pay FC Barcelona 8.5 million euros, plus 2M in variables", Barcelona announced via their official website.

"The clubs reached agreement on the transfer late on Friday evening".

A few seasons ago Vidal would've been a marquee signing since he was at the peak of his powers and few could play like him.

Players come to LeBron's defense after President Donald Trump rips James' smarts
The statement followed a Twitter rant on Friday from her husband in response to an interview James had given to CNN . In that tweet, LeBron added that "Going to the White House was a great honor until you showed up!"

He joined Bayern from Juventus in 2015 and won the Bundesliga title in each of his three seasons in Germany.

Barcelona were initially interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot but after failing to convince the Frenchman for the same, they went ahead with Vidal, reported. "I'd like to thank the club for giving me the chance to take on another new challenge with Barcelona". "He's always led the big games and we could always trust him", Rummenigge said. "Arturo made a significant contribution to the great successes we enjoyed in this time".

He helped Juve win Italy's Serie A four times in four seasons after moving to Italy from Bayer Leverkusen in 2011.
